What is the EPDM?
EPDM is a copolymer of Ethylene, Propylene, and a small amount of non-conjugated diolefin. EPDM (Ethylene Diene Monomer) is a type of Ethylene Propylene rubber, denoted by EPDM (Ethylene Diene Monomer). Because the main chain is composed of chemically stable saturated hydrocarbons, it only contains unsaturated double bonds in the side chain. So its ozone resistance, heat resistance, weather resistance and other excellent aging performance, can be widely used in automotive parts, building waterproof materials, wire and cable sheath, heat resistant hose, tape, automotive seals and other fields.
What are the components of epDM rubber strips?
EPDM, carbon black, paraffin oil, calcium carbonate, zinc oxide, stearic acid, accelerant, sulfur and others.
What is the role of carbon black?
Reinforcing effect, it improves the elastic recovery of the product, tensile strength, compression deformation, tear strength and other physical properties, protect the product from aging.
What is the function of paraffin oil?
Used to adjust the hardness of products, lubricants, active agents, improve the low temperature resistance and aging of rubber products.
What are the advantages of EPDM?
1, excellent aging resistance, ozone resistance, weather resistance, service life up to 20 years.
2, EPDM has good high temperature and low temperature resistance, it can be used in 160℃ high temperature conditions for a long time, but also can keep good elasticity under -40℃ conditions, so EPDM material can be used in a large temperature range.
3, low compression permanent deformation, minimum up to 15%, the product under long-term rolling pressure or endurance state, no permanent deformation, the force disappeared can be restored to the original position.
4, chemical resistance medium, can resist brake fluid, water, coolant, detergent, strong alkali and other chemical media.
5, excellent electrical insulation performance, high volume resistance value.
